esfoley designs is the embodiment of a shared vision developed over thirty years by creative daughter/ mother team, Emily and Polly Foley. Raised in Woodstock, Vermont, Emily enjoyed the company of famed artists and creative spirits from a very early age, and these individuals instilled a design sense, a unique aesthetic, and the artisanal skills to translate those into a distinctive, hand-crafted yet practical line of children’s clothing and home accessories, all of the highest quality. Those same skills, coupled with a love of pugs, several of whom appear on www.esfoleydesigns.com, led to a playful and attractive line extension of dog and cat accessories over the years as well. So, after a two-decade career in Boston’s financial district coupled with small-batch production for friends and family, Emily and Polly combined homes on Cape Cod in 2010 and the pair devoted themselves beginning in 2016 to the full-time business of esfoley designs.
Over the past thirty years, Emily assembled from large wholesalers and tiny boutiques alike across the eastern US a large and diverse collection of 100% cotton fabrics, many rare or discontinued, spanning the spectrum of color, theme, and texture. That unequaled selection of fabric inputs, coupled with a style best described as contemporary and sophisticated, with clever details hinting at whimsy and New England tradition, permit Emily to marry season and fashion into coordinated one of a kind collections in her private studio workshop, each piece hand assembled to be a keepsake, handed down across generations.
